Jenny On Earth

Jenny and I seek a connection with our deceased parents through reenactments and metaphysical exploration. We use obscure investigation devices to uncover what we might have been missing, retracing our steps and going through our family archive. Unsure what we might discover, we dive into our formative memories and pursuit of the paranormal together.

Pursuit of the paranormal was never something I thought I would be making a movie about, but when my sister and I started making this movie I knew it could be a very compelling journey. This film inspired me to utilize all of my mixed media interests in hopes of getting some kind of cryptic message for my sister or myself, and ultimately making this deepened the bond between us.

My motivation for this film was seeking an outlet to express some of the difficulties I continue to face involving the absence of family accentuated by holidays. I can’t thank everyone who helped on this enough. It was my honor to be a guest for season two of The Experimental Film Podcast. I give some details on making this film and how to deal with the stress of directing.

I don’t want to make art about you anymore.

I don’t want to make art about you anymore. is based off a combination of ideas I’d been contemplating for many years. I sought closure which I realized might be obtained through this mixed media display of images and music. I spent many hours taking Polaroid photos and compiling a plethora of various physical objects. After the visuals were assembled, my friends and musicians, Trianna Feruza & Nick Tio accompanied the film with a haunting and reminiscent score.

Not An Orphan

I never thought this film would be seen by anyone other than my close family. I was eventually inspired by friends to showcase the film. Little did I know, it would ultimately play at multiple festivals, and at the well established Brainwash Drive-in Movie Festival. During this festival run, I was interviewed by Ken Hess for the first time at The Experimental Film Podcast. We discuss this film, my past and future endeavors, as well as our shared artistic inspirations.
